学校概况

似暗夜星火，是荒原萌芽。一所聋哑孩子的学校——无锡县私立惠喑学校，在旧中国战火频仍、风雨飘摇的年代诞生了！

一九四零年，聋哑人中的有识之士钱天序、陈祖耕、许廷荣等筹资创办的无锡县私立惠喑学校，开创了无锡地区聋哑教育之先河。虽然当年仅有四名老师，九名学生，乃历史之创举，为我市聋哑教学之滥觞。

私立惠喑学校——无锡县聋哑学校——无锡市聋哑学校——无锡市特殊教育学校，七十多年来，历经艰难坎坷、探索发展的漫漫之路！

新中国成立后，学校得到了党和政府的关怀，在聋教体制、学制、教学规律等方面积极探索，一九五六年试行口语教学，不再是“无声的学校”，并为编写我国第一套聋校语文教材《全日制聋校语文实验教材》和《数学教学参考书》，以及草创我国统一手势语，作出了建设性的贡献。改革开放后，学校承先启后，为苏南多所新办聋校培训师资，在省市多项竞赛中名列前茅。一九九五年创办了职业高中，初步构建适应社会发展需要和聋哑学生自身发展需求的“学前教育、九年制义务教育和职业高中教育”相贯通的现代教育体系。新世纪以来，学校在以“为听障学生终生发展奠基”的教育理念和“惠喑”精神的指引下，教育学生学会学习、学会生存、学会劳动、学会健体、学会审美，全面提高学生的基本素质和对现代社会的适应能力，把听障学生培养成有理想、有道德、有文化、有技术的社会有用人才。

目前，学校也正是基于这样的办学思想和理念，在教育的征途上披荆斩棘，开拓创新，一路探索，一路芬芳。

Introduction of Our School

    In the flames of war, through the stormy path, like sparks of fire and sprouts in the wilderness, a school for deaf-mute students --- Wuxi Hui Yin Private School was founded!

    In 1940, some far-sighted deaf-mute personages, Mr. Qian Tianxu, Mr. Chen Zugeng, Mr. Xu Tingrong raised money and cofounded Wuxi Hui Yin Private School, initiating special education in Wuxi. Though the school only had four teachers and nine students at that time, it was still a pioneering work for both the city and the history.

   Hui Yin Private School- Wuxi County Deaf-mute School- Wuxi School for Deaf and Mute- Wuxi Special Education School, for more than seventy years, our school went through twists and turns and explored a long way of development!

   After the founding of People’s Republic of China, under the care of the Communist Party as well as the Chinese government, our school explored actively in the areas like educational system, school system and teaching rules. In 1956, our school tried out oral teaching and became no more a “school of silence” Our school also made great contribution to the compilation of China’s first edition of Chinese teaching textbooks Experiment Teaching Materials for Full-time Deaf and Mute School and Reference Book of Mathematical Education. Meanwhile, our school made constructive contribution to China’s unity of sign language as well. After the reform and opening up, our school inherited the past and forged ahead into the future. We trained teachers for newly founded deaf-mute schools in the south of Jiangsu Province. We came out top in competitions in Jiangsu and Wuxi. In 1995, we had our very first vocational senior grade and constructed a modern education system for students to meet their own needs and social needs. Since the beginning of the new century, under the guidance of the educational wisdom “all for laying a foundation for students’ lifelong development” and the spirit of “Hui Yin”, our school inspired all students to learn to study well, to survive, to work, to exercise and to be aesthetic. We improved the basic qualities of students and their adaptability to modern society. We transformed our students into socially useful talents with viewpoints, morals, knowledge and techniques.

   At present, our school is blazing its way forward through all the difficulties based on such thoughts and ideas of running a school. We are exploring, innovating and harvesting.

交通线路：

l 公交车线路：

1、在火车站乘坐11路或760路，在中桥二村站下车，步行5分钟到学校。

2、在汽车站乘坐33路，在中桥二村站下车，步行5分钟到学校。

l 自驾车线路：

1、高速——无锡市特殊教育学校（约13公里）：沪蓉高速无锡东出口下，往市区方向，走太湖大道隧道，出隧道第一个红绿灯红星路口左转，再左转望东走中南西路，至三岔路口右转150米，再右转进入新村小路100米，即到学校。

2、无锡硕放机场、无锡东站——无锡市特殊教育学校（约17公里）：机场——机场快速路——金城东高架——快速内环南——中南路出口下，右转中南路，掉头标记回走100米，右转进入新村小路100米，即到学校。

l 飞机线路：

机场直接打的到学校，全程是高架快速路，大概30分钟左右。
